Ornament season is not over. And I don’t say that simply because I have neglected to remove Tacky Santa from the living room window, or because our tree still graces its corner in the family room, although both of those things are indeed true.
No, I say that because I am actually still making ornaments.
I had accepted 10 orders in early December, finished them, made a few more for gifts (and myself) and then decided to do another 15 after Christmas, just for kicks. Of those, I’ve only completed two so far, but I’ve got another four in progress on the clay table.
I thought this would be a nice opportunity to show you the ones I’ve done so far (at the top of this post), and to let you know that I still have a couple of slots open, if you’re interested in grabbing one of these off-season. I’m happy to back-date it 2015, so you can pretend it was hanging on your tree all along. If all goes according to plan, you should have it by the end of January.
I know several people who leave theirs out all year round, so they technically don’t even have to be Christmas ornaments… How about Valentine’s Day, or Mother’s Day?

On a sort of related note, I’m so excited to be going to the Clayathon once again! I’d had to skip it for the last few years due to scheduling conflicts, but I’m free and clear this year. The festivities happen in mid-February, and before I go, I will be talking to you about it again because I would like to give you a chance to put me to work while I’m there. Custom crochet hooks, seam rippers, and such will definitely be on the agenda. I’m also thinking about doing a batch of shawl pins again. It’s been a long time since I’ve done any of those.
I’m getting all kinds of ideas for new millefiori designs I want to try, too. I’m especially interested in making some designs based on the bright color scheme in my great-grandmother’s blanket. Hopefully the reality will match what’s in my head
